Dear Diary,

I’ve been so busy with library and bookshop events lately that I haven’t had a chance to write any of them up until now!!! My first library visit this summer was to Bicester Library, on 2nd August. The library itself is beautiful, with its spacious layout; its “stained glass” windows that were made during a previous children’s activity session; and its quirky seating that entices you to stay and read for hours. We had a constant stream of children and parents visiting throughout the day, and many of them joined in with the activities I hosted. I don’t think I can remember the names of every child who came along, but I definitely remember meeting Phoebe, Freddie, Nalia, George, Rosalie, Ida, Nel, Olivia, Sophia, Isobel, Eddy, Fred, Billy, Nicolas, Dimitri, Logan, Bjorn, and Liyana (apologies to those I’ve missed). I had a super time with them all, and they created some wonderful book cover designs — including Freddie’s for his story entitled The Hangry Dragon and Nalia’s for her story entitled Luna and the Bunny. I’m sure I remember there being one about naughty fairies, too. And it was lovely to see Nicolas (or was it Dimitri?) sitting for ages reading his copy of WARNING: Magic Can Be Dangerous!… and even walking around whilst still reading it at one point!!!
