Dear Diary,

My activity session at Chard Library this afternoon was a quiet affair, but I still had great fun with the handful of children I was lucky enough to spend time with.

Toby produced a lovely book cover for his story entitled Toby and the Tiger and the Frog. Dexter had some great ideas for his story entitled Ninja Dexter. Esmé wrote a wonderful two-page story based on the title prompt There’s a Dragon Hiding under My Bed. And Kalise wrote a story which combined elements from all number of my title prompts!

Here’s a little snippet from Esmé’s super story:

Hi, my name is Esmé, and I like… no, I LOVE to sleep. One night, I went to go to bed, and I got into bed. I was almost asleep when I heard a squeak under my bed. I rolled over in my bed, and I finally got to sleep. In the middle of the night, I woke up and heard another squeak. I tried and tried to get back to sleep, but I couldn’t! So, I went to see my clock, but it was gone! I got out of my bed, and a huge slimy claw grabbed my leg, and I slipped. I found myself being pulled through to the end of the bed. “Aaaghh,” I screamed as I closed my eyes to feel the wall. But the bump never came…
