Berkeley Primary

Thursday January 22nd 2026

I had a brilliant time at Berkeley Primary today (despite a broken front suspension spring on my car trying to throw a spanner in the works).

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many pupils with their hands in the air (eager to ask and answer questions) during an assembly before… or so many pupils putting their hands up during my workshops in response to me asking who likes writing!!!

The Year 1 & Year 2 pupils dreamt up some super book cover designs during their session, the older pupils came up with some fantastic poems, raps, stories, and diary entries during their workshop, and the Reception pupils had a wail of a time completing their tracing and colouring sheets.

It was great to see Bella and others again, too, after initially meeting them last summer during my event at Berkeley Library. Huge congratulations to James in Year 6 for winning my dragon prize. Oh… and speaking of dragons… Ronnie and Jaedyn, it was lovely to arrive home to see you’d both already been in touch via wordsofwarning.com. I have a special mission for you both, so keep an eye out for my response to your messages.

Thank you, Mrs Baker and all at Berkeley Primary, for a wonderful day. And special thanks to my lovely helpers at home time, after my trolley spilled its contents all over the playground and we had to scrabble around after hundreds of stickers!
