Dear Diary,
I had a wonderful time hosting a children’s event at Bridgwater Library this morning. Sharon and the team had really got the word out about my visit, and lots of parents and children came along to join in with the activities and to find out more about WARNING: Magic Can Be Dangerous! & WARNING: May Contain Dragons.
We had to pull out an extra table at one point — and then lots more chairs —as it got so busy! But busy is how I like it!!! And although it means I’ve already fogotten the names of some of those who attended, I do remember Molly, Maisie, Mason, Freddie, Mia, Raffey, Ferris, Effie, Felicity, Max, Jesse, Jack, Marnie, Kyra, Penelope, Leyland, Evie, Evelyn, and Jasmine being there.
And of course I haven’t forgotten Oaklee, who took his story book along to show me this morning. He deserves a special mention. He’s only 6, and I can’t believe he’s written and illustrated such a fantastic story at such a young age!!!! I’m going to feature it on the website, under the Readers’ Writing tab soon, to give it the proper praise it deserves.
But Oaklee wasn’t the only aspiring author who was at the library this morning. It was lovely to meet young Mia, too. She’s such a beacon of light, and I hear she dreams of becoming an author when she’s older.
And if I’m doing special mentions, then I guess I shouldn’t leave out Badger… I’m so pleased she liked her certificate for her hilarious (though a little bit naughty) story. I don’t often give certificates out to grown-ups!!!
I had such a super morning at Bridgwater Library and was very sad to leave.
