Dear Diary,
Yesterday’s school visit was just a short walk around the corner from home. But today, I was out on the road at 6.30am to ensure I arrived at Christ Church Primary, Lichfield in plenty of time for their morning assembly. Tiredness is definitely catching up with me at the moment, as I stumbled over my words a little this morning… and my book shut on me whilst I was reading the opening chapters, making things rather tricky for what felt like an eternity. But I hopefully recovered well. And by the time I started the first of my four workshops, I’d fully woken up and was back in the swing of things. I thought I’d really be lagging by lunchtime, but the pupils were absolutely incredible today, and boosted my energy levels no end with their eager and excitable participation. They created so many wonderful pieces that the day flew by in no time, and I was sad to leave at 3pm. Despite the long journey, I’ll definitely go back again next year with my second book in the series (if they’ll have me). Oh… and Christ Church Primary in Lichfield has a BOOK vending machine!!! How cool is that?!? And why on earth did I not think to take a photo?
