Dear Diary,
My final school visit before half-term was to North Road Primary. The pupils were still a little tired from their spooky Halloween disco the night before, but they soon perked up when my assembly got underway. They had some novel ideas for fending off dragons during an attack, including playing a hypnotic tune on a violin. And they came up with some fantastic suggestions for future stories I should write in the Words of WARNING collection… including WARNING: North Road Has Dragons and WARNING: Don’t Ride a Skateboard to School.
I followed my assembly by hosting workshops for each year group. It was wonderful witnessing the talented pupils tapping into their creativity… there are doubtless many future authors at North Road. I can’t believe how many certificates I ended up handing out! I even ended up being presented with something myself whilst I was there – some beautiful origami sculptures that Ezra and Isabella had made for me. (They’re now proudly on display in my office!)
I had a super time at North Road Primary. Despite it being the last day of term, the pupils couldn’t have been more engaged during all of my activities. And as for the Year 6 prefects who helped out at the end of the day… well, they were practically perfect in every way!
