Park Junior

Friday March 20th 2026

I had a marvellous time at Stonehouse Park Federation today. I started the morning at Stonehouse Park Infant School (hosting an assembly for all the pupils along with their counterparts from Park Junior), then I spent the rest of the day at Park Junior (hosting workshops for every year group).

The pupils were an exceptionally creative bunch, making it a hard task for the teachers and me to decide who to award certificates to. But when it came to awarding my dragon prize, I had only one name in mind… Ryan! He showed so much determination, resilience, and perseverance during one of my activities that I know he’ll achieve whatever he puts his mind to going forwards in life. And given that I’d mentioned those characteristics during my assembly when talking about what it takes to be an author, it only felt fitting that my dragon should be awarded to someone showing such character traits!

Huge thanks to Miss Evans for arranging my visit and for looking after me so wonderfully throughout the day. And thank you to every pupil and teacher for your wholehearted engagement during my visit and for all the fun you filled the day with.
